Automation Electronics RTU Power Distribution Board for 12 VDC Solar

The RTU Power Distribution Board (RPDB) provides power protection, battery test, shutdown and switches for controlling operating mode and power.

The RPDB fuses Polyswitches manufactured by Raychem. A PolySwitch goes open when its rated current has been exceeded and heals itself back to its original shorted state when the operating current falls below a specific threshold point. Therefore, it is not necessary to discard a PolySwitch or healable fuse.

The +24 V_DC analog sourcing voltage is generated through a MAX 643 +12 V_DC to +24 V_DC switching regulated converter. Its output voltage can be adjusted down to +20 V_DC to conserve energy when solar power is used.
