The PTA Power Transient Arrester is designed to provide transient surge protection for the 110 V_AC power feed to electronic equipment such as controllers, instrumentation equipment, etc.

110 V_AC, hot, neutral and ground is brought directly to this board. The PTA is a three stage device that protects the equipment with a combination of parallel varistors, line to ground, and line to line; series inductors, and parallel transorbs, and capacitors, line to ground.
